my current PC cost me half of that(not counting monitor,
keyborad, mouse) 
get one of those assembled PCs from SLS, choose a light aluminium
gaming case, e.g. Antec Superlanboy with supplied carrying
straps.
so touch wood next time need to carry the casing around it'd be
much much lighter than the standard galvanised steel casings
